WE THE FEST is Indonesia’s most anticipated summer festival that celebrates music, arts and culture around the Asian region, and brings international music acts to Southeast Asia. 2017 marks the forth edition of the festival and WE THE FEST decided to shake things up a bit and go Beyond The Music, bringing an all rounded experience for all the audiences and introduces them to a brand new motive. We had a chance to talk to the Head of PR, Kevin Wiyarnanda, to discuss the additional qualities that completes the name of WE THE FEST.
‘Beyond The Music’ seems to be what every music festival seeks to achieve right now, how does WE THE FEST differentiate itself with others?
An all-rounded festival experience is what we try to achieve. Our ‘Beyond The Music’ lineup includes various zones and activities that festival goers could only experience at WE THE FEST with some Indonesian twist including a cooking stage where festival goers can learn how to cook various Indonesian & international dishes, a games zone called Carnifun, an Art Village with some of the best Indonesian artists, the WTF Market that highlights some of the best Indonesian brands that are curated by the festival, and many more that we have yet to reveal.
The line-up for this year’s festival seems to vary a lot genre wise, were there any difficulties in rounding up the list?
We The Fest has always been a mix genre festival and diversity is something that we want to highlight. There were some challenges rounding up everyone but we’re glad that we pulled through.
We The Fest seems to be a name the includes all, how does the music or activities reflect that?
Our musical lineup and ‘Beyond The Music’ lineup are the best representations of how we want the festival-goers to experience WE THE FEST.
Any highlights from the festival you want to tell our readers about?
For us in Ismaya Live, our highlight has got to be every time we see the festival-goers having the time of their lives in the festival with their friends and loved ones. That definitely makes us feel that all of the time, energy and effort put into the festival worth it.
The 4 activations are newly added this year, any expectations on how it’ll go?
We simply want festival-goers to try and indulge in all 4 activations to experience the festival fully along with the other activations and zones that we have yet to announce!
How should we navigate our way through the festival any tips?
We’re releasing a WTF 2017 app soon! That should come in handy for everyone. For the latest updates, check out www.wethefest.com and follow us on our social media channels 🙂
WE THE FEST will be held this year on 11th-13th August at Jiexpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia
