Tom Petty Rock Icon Dies at Age 66

Tom Petty, a singer/ song-writer, and guitarist who made significant effort in shaping the rock scene in California, USA, died on Monday, after being found unconscious due to cardiac arrest. Petty was still performing (40th anniversary with The Heartbreakers, 22nd Sept)  just a week before this sudden news.

Most well known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, his songs has been staples in the rock scene for many decades, even now people refer to his songs as one of the most significant sounds that represents the rock music in the US.

Some of the well-known hits are “Free Fallin”, “I Won’t Back Down” and “Refugee”, all alludes to the underdogs and the outcasts. Which was very down to earth, and calls out to a lot of listeners.
