Swedish EDM DJ Avicii found dead in Muscat, Oman on April 20th, according to a statement from his publicist, who stated that the cause of death of the 28-year-old musician was not immediately clear.
The Swedish DJ, whose real name is Tim Bergling, passed away at the age of 28. Avicii had been battling with his health in the years leading up to his shock death.“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time,” the statement reads,“No further statements will be given.”
Since his single ‘Levels’ in 2011, Avicii had been in the mainstream electronic music scene and been successful in his music path. The single even hit No. 1 on the US dance charts. The year after that, he collaborated with David Guetta for ‘Sunshine’, earning him his first Grammy for Best Dance Recording.
Oman police has confirmed earlier today that there is no criminal suspicion of the Swedish musician’s death, though the cause of his death remains a mystery.
The superstar DJ had been suffering from health issue in the past since 2013. The first public incident concerning his staggering health would be him being rushed to hospital with acute pancreatitis after arriving in Australia for a headlining tour of the Future Music Festival.
The sudden death of the superstar DJ is a complete shock for his fans and family. Let’s pray for him and wish him rest in peace.
